Plan the complete assembly
Start with the conditions in the space.
Large-format tile creates quiet surfaces, but it makes substrate and layout problems more visible. The scope should verify flatness, plan movement accommodation and specify handling and setting methods suited to the tile. The goal is consistent plane, joint alignment and coverage across the full installation.

A project-specific local brief
What should be checked before large-format tile in Greenstone?
Large-format tile magnifies surface variation, handling constraints and mortar-coverage problems, so those conditions belong in the initial scope. The notes below combine that service requirement with the property and access conditions commonly raised in Greenstone; the actual site still controls the final method.
Access and sequence
Check the existing surface and finished floor heights. Verify that tile crates and full-size pieces fit through doors, elevators and stairs, with protected space available for cutting and staging.
Ontario project conditions
Agree on preparation, product requirements and available work dates. Large porcelain and setting materials should reach suitable interior temperature before installation, particularly after cold-weather transport.
